
DAB Holds Scientific Seminar and Distributes Leaflets to Prevent Dengue

Description
The Doctors Association of Bangladesh, DAB, an organization of medical professionals, organized a scientific seminar and awareness campaign through leaflet distribution to combat the spread of dengue across the country and raise public awareness.
The seminar was organized by the Central Executive Committee of DAB at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday (October 6, 2026), at the auditorium of Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College in the capital.
The event was chaired by DAB President Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid and moderated by its Secretary General Dr. Md. Zahirul Islam Shakil. BNP Standing Committee Member, Executive Director of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation, and Chief Adviser of DAB, Professor Dr. Farhad Haleem Donar, attended the event as the chief guest. State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. M. A. Muhit, MP, and Chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Barrister Abdus Salam were present as special guests.
In his speech, Professor Dr. Farhad Haleem Donar said that dengue prevention cannot rely solely on medical treatment. He emphasized that destroying mosquito breeding grounds, increasing public awareness, and ensuring coordinated measures by the relevant authorities are essential to prevent the spread of the disease. He also stressed the importance of early detection and timely treatment, urging both the medical community and the general public to play an active role in maintaining cleanliness.
Among others, DAB Senior Joint Secretary General Professor Khalekuzzaman Dipu, Scientific Secretary Dr. Md. Sayem, Principal of Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College and DAB Vice Chairman Professor Mujibul Haque Doyel, Holy Family DAB President Dr. K. M. Masud Akter Jitu, and General Secretary Dr. K. M. Ziaur Rahman addressed the seminar.
